Happy Thanksgiving from UCM!

Hi, congratulations you have survived the first 5 weeks of school! I hope you take the thanksgiving weekend to catch-up on your reading, as you enjoy your family and some turkey dinner.

UCM is launching a second worship and prayer time next week on Wednesday at 1:30 by the coffee kiosk in the AQ 3174 follow the signs. We hope this will give some of you who can't make Tuesday's time an opportunity to join us. If you attend the Tuesday worship and prayer time please continue to do so so we have enough people for that one as well.

Just to remind you the small groups on Mondays are cancelled but the rest of the week is on schedule, as is our worship and prayer on Tuesdays at 11:30.

Just a thought everybody... anyone have a suggestion for a new name for our 'worship and prayer' event? Might be nice to reduce it from four words to one....

...it's an 'emergent' thing, dontchaknow.

Here are a few I thought of just off the top of my head:
UCM FUN HOUR
UCM HOUR O'PRAYIN' AND SINGIN'
"THE MEETING"
SETH PRAYING FOR EVERYONE IN A LARGE ROOM
DON'T THINK ABOUT YOUR STUDIES.... NOW!
GOD-O-RAMA

I'm sure I have plenty more, but those should get the creative juices flowing, or at least oozing at a rate slightly faster than extra-thick molases.

I think we need to watch for the unintended "baggage" that comes from names. this is partly why it's always so hard to name anything, but anyhow. For me, "shekinah" conjures up a sort of health-and-wealth, healin'-and-dealin' sort of church... you know, the shiny shoes and the expensive suits and the five hour long healing times...
anyway, that's my two cents.
I like sunago too, but lets all get our bible dictionaries out and come up with our own version.

Hey, I like that! I grew up anglican, and the word "ecclesia-" is a really common one for us. Eccliastes, ecclesiastical... ecclesi-tastic!

sorry. that was totally uncalled for.
